Sussex Police investigating sexual offences at former Seaford school.
Sussex Police received a report of a sexual assault from a man, alleged to have occurred during his time as a pupil at St Wilfrid’s School in Seaford in the 1970s and 1980s. The school has since closed and been demolished.
Following the man coming forward, a suspect was identified, and an 85-year-old man attended the Police to give a voluntary interview while further enquiries were undertaken.
Sussex Police are now asking for anyone who has any information to come forward. They would particularly like to hear from anyone who was a pupil or worked at St Wilfrid’s during the 1970s and 1980s.
Anyone who can help has been asked to contact police online or via 101, quoting reference number 47230002158.
David Hawkins, who is a specialist in historic sexual abuse cases with Biscoes Solicitors said “If anyone has any information that could assist the Police investigation into historic offences at St Wilfrid’s School, I would urge you to speak to the Police. If you have been affected by this and wanted advice on your legal rights, you can also speak to me in complete confidence and without obligation and I would be happy to advise you as to your rights.”
