Latest HSE Statistics Highlight Prevalence of Work-Related Stress
Stress, depression and anxiety account for a large proportion of work-related illnesses experienced in Great Britain, according to the latest statistics from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Annual statistics on work-related ill health and workplace injuries, published by the HSE, reveal that 1.8 million workers reported that they were suffering from work-related ill health in 2022/23, with approximately half of the cases down to stress, depression or anxiety.
Figures show that there were an estimated 875,000 cases of work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2022/23, meaning that self-reported work-related stress, depression or anxiety is currently at a higher level than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.
