- Role: Legal Secretary / Assistant
- Department: Residential Property
- Hours: 35 per week, 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary/Assistant to join our expanding Residential Property team. You will directly support one of our senior associates, providing comprehensive support to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency. This role is full-time and office-based in our Fareham office.
Role Responsibilities
As a Legal Secretary/Assistant, you will be expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative to effectively carry out administrative duties in accordance with company procedures and quality standards. These include:
- Preparing correspondence and documents using audio typing, word processing, or digital dictation methods.
- Administering filing systems, including daily filing and the opening, closing, storage, and retrieval of client files, in accordance with company procedures.
- Attending to clients, both in person and on the telephone, in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
- Making appointments, arranging meetings, and maintaining an up-to-date diary for the fee earner.
- Preparing mail and enclosures for dispatch and arranging for all copying to be done.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of all practice and client documentation and information.
Job Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience and take a professional, client-first approach. They will possess sound knowledge and administrative expertise in the field, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate in a friendly, professional, and confidential manner. The role will suit those with a positive and flexible approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure, projecting the image and ethos of the firm at all times.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a legal secretary/assistant in a residential property team or comparable role.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom (sponsorship will not be provided).
- Satisfactory DBS check required.
